Fun and Games

Corn Hole

Location, Date and Time:  TBD

We hope to offer a little pioneer team competition with the Corn Hole game.

SOME CORNHOLE HISTORY:
Did you know that the popular and competitive game of Cornhole is not new? Although the game has elements of multiple games developed throughout history, it originated in the mid-1880s when it was referred to as Bean Bags or Parlor Quoits. Heyliger Adams de Windt, a Harvard graduate from a very well-connected and influential American family, received a patent for a bag toss game in 1883 that would be marketed as Faba Baga. The game now referred to as Cornhole had a resurgence of popularity based in the midwest USA in the mid-20th century. The name "Cornhole" was related to the game bags being filled with corn (although other substances were and are used as well). Modern competitive Cornhole has become more standardized since the early 21st century and there are now tournaments all over the world.
